Hello from an Irish Expat Now Resident in Ohio
Hi to all, my name is Paul (despite the username) and I am from Dublin, Ireland. I moved here a couple of weeks ago (here being Cleveland Heights) from Ireland with my Ohio-born wife.
I started hiking in Ireland a couple of years ago. Mostly along a route known as the Wicklow Way, which took you through valleys, past spectacular waterfalls (well, waterfall anyway) and over mountain tops. I wouldn't say I was regular with the hiking - but I would certainly aim to get out there at least once a month, and frequently more when it was possible. Most of the Wicklow Way trails I took would be about 15 or so miles (with pretty strenuous climbs along a couple of the trails). My fitness level definitely needs improvement but my stamina and determination to keep going at full throttle is pretty good (probably since there are few things I love as much as being deep in the heart of the great outdoors).
From what I can gather, Ohio seems to have a fair few interesting hikes (although I notice that a lot of them appear to be down towards the southern end of the state). I am looking forward to discovering them in the coming months and years (of course, I need to learn to drive first so I can actually get to some of these places!)
Anyway, that's my story. Nice to meet you all...
